Curved geological strata

THE PLATFORM

One platform. Every link in the chain.

Carbon removal only works when sourcing, logistics, storage and verification work as one system. Endura develops and operates that system.

THE CHAIN

The chain, in depth.

01

Biogenic sourcing

Ethanol fermentation and biogas upgrading release CO₂ streams of high purity, which avoids costly separation and makes capture radically simpler than in flue-gas sources. Endura contracts these streams with partner mills within a defined radius of each storage hub.

02

Conditioning and liquefaction

Compact, remote-operated liquefaction units are installed at each source. CO₂ is dried, purified and liquefied on site, ready for dispatch, with unit telemetry integrated into the platform's control room.

Remote-operated units
03

Dedicated logistics

A dedicated fleet of RNG-powered trucks moves liquid CO₂ from mills to the hub on short, planned routes. Using renewable natural gas keeps the logistics footprint low and the chain of custody unbroken.

Geological injection

At the hub, CO₂ is conditioned and injected in supercritical state through a system of multiple injection wells into deep onshore saline formations, at depths beyond 1,000 meters, beneath successive layers of impermeable rock.

05

Monitoring and verification

Injection is accompanied by continuous geophysical and geochemical monitoring, with defined action triggers, and by measurement, reporting and verification procedures designed for independent audit and long-term stewardship, including closure and post-closure responsibility.

GEOLOGICAL STORAGE

Engineered storage, kilometers below the surface.

Cross-section of engineered geological CO₂ storage, from the surface to 1,800 meters deep 0 m800 m1,000 m1,800 m Soil and containment layers Drinking water aquifer, isolated by cemented casing Impermeable caprock Deep saline reservoir: permanent CO₂ storage CO₂ plume

CO₂ is injected in supercritical state into porous, brine-filled rock formations far below any usable water resource, and held in place by successive impermeable layers. Storage of this kind requires deep wells, materials engineered for pressure, temperature and corrosivity, and geomechanical monitoring designed to confirm that the CO₂ stays where it was injected. Deep saline formations offer vastly larger storage capacity than depleted oil and gas fields, and the Paraná basin is estimated to hold storage potential in the hundreds of gigatonnes.

TECHNOLOGY

Reading the subsurface at modern resolution.

Endura's subsurface team reprocesses legacy seismic data acquired in the Paraná basin since the 1980s using modern workflows: reverse time migration, full waveform inversion and machine-learning-accelerated processing on high-performance computing. What was once a blurred image becomes a detailed one, accelerating the identification of storage targets and reducing the cost and schedule of appraisal.

SAFETY

Risk, mapped and managed from day one.

Every storage project is developed against three risk families: geological (reservoir volume and containment), geomechanical (pressure management and fault integrity) and operational (well integrity, materials and monitoring performance). Each phase of development, from seismic reprocessing to injection tests, is designed to retire risk before capital is committed, and operations follow defined monitoring triggers, emergency response protocols and closure and post-closure responsibilities.
